Drusilla is laying out Tarot cards in a spread as she sits in her parlor in the basement.

"Hello, Tara," says Drusilla. "A party?" she asks, gesturing into her parlor. "Would you like some tea?"

"Tea would be lovely, thank you." Tara nods gratefully. "And yes, a party for all of us from Sunnydale. Spike says he's working, so he probably can't come, but I thought we might all go there after dinner for drinks. I know Buffy, Xander and Faith will be coming too. I know there was some bad blood back home, but I'm sure all that's behind us now." And yes, Tara's naively good natured enough to believe that.

Drusilla gathers her cards back up and slips them into a red silk bag. She pulls a chair out and pours a cup of tea for Tara, then one for herself. "I would love to be there," says Drusilla as she sits. "This is a different place." Drusilla is actively encouraging Tara's continued belief in that.


OOC: It's real tea, even! No funky anything! Just plain, ordinary black tea.

Tara accepts the cup with a smile. "It is. I don't think the old rules really apply here."

OOC: Wow. *is stunned*

"No one knows whether to buy a yardstick or measuring cups." Drusilla pulled a box of biscuits out of a drawer and put some on a plate.


OOC: Not even demonic evil can take the British Empire out of a girl. You just don't mess with tea!

Tara helps herself to a biscuit, nodding her thanks. "I tried to arrange catering for the party, but it turned out to be a little tricky. Do you think it'd be okay if we just had something homecooked?"

OOC: *nods solemnly*

"Over a campfire would be lovely," says Drusilla. She takes a sip of her tea and nods. "I'm afraid I'd simply be horrid as a chef, though."

OOC: Must catch up on some chatter, then SLEEP. :(

"A campfire might be a little difficult to arrange," Tara laughs. "I was thinking more like at my place. And I'd cook. Do you like human food, or should I just provide, um, drinks for you?"

OOC: No problem. Sleep well.

Drusilla laughs along with Tara. "I would love to eat you at your place," she says softly. "Your cooking would be lovely."

Tara blushes. "Um, okay. Then I guess my place it is. Thursday? At 8? I'm in Dorm #142."

"Miss Edith and I wouldn't miss it for the world," says Drusilla, smiling at Tara. "Do you like it here?" she asks.

Tara looks around the room. At first it's a little offputting - much like the eyeless doll, but as she notices details she begins to smile. And what better playmate for a seer than a blind doll? An innocent who can't see all the things she can't not.

"Yes," she finally agrees. "I do. It feels like it belongs."

OOC: Oh *crap*. Can't have it in Tara's dorm, because then Spike and Lilah can't come. (Although Spike probably won't anyway.) *flails at not being able to invite friends over to own house* *is tempted to ignore the rules and do it anyway* *flails some more*

OOC: Oh, and Lilah's so excited about it too. Doing it anyway brings Rover's great white globey wrath down upon Spike and Tara. There's got to be a place. Let me check the town info I have in my memories.

Can we have it at Deb's Diner? Totally incongruous place for the evil folks, which makes it funny. What about Nolita's? The Realm Epithumia (a tea shop)? Check out this directory.

So, BTW, does that constitute an official I-can-get-in-now invite into Tara's room? Because if so, I know at least one time that Drusilla will want to come in. (When you-know-what happens, at the very least.)

Putting down her teacup, Tara asks hesitently, "May I hold Miss Edith?"

OOC: Oh, wow, no one's ever asked that before. Before I have Dru answer, is there anything she could pick up off Tara--intent, emotions, something like that--about this request?

OOC: Tara's interested in Miss Edith, and wants to look at her more closely, but she wants to respect the personhood that Miss Edith holds for Dru, and not just examine her like an object.
